I am a Limited Licensed Professional Counselor (LLPC) in the State of Michigan. I received my MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Detroit Mercy. I received my BSc in Neuroscience and Mental Health Studies from the University of Toronto.

The reason I became a counselor is because I witnessed firsthand the mental health issues that occurred within my own community. Personally, I have (and continue to) struggle with anxiety, depression and trauma. However, I was not able to seek counseling at the time and furthermore, did not have any outlets to discuss and understand what I was going through. My story is what drives me to do as much as I can for my clients. There is such a stigma with discussing mental health issues and my goal is to play a role in removing this stigma and providing a space for clients to discuss what they need to talk about without judgement.

I specialize in post-traumatic stress disorder, trauma, depression, anxiety, stress management, crisis counseling and spirituality counseling. I believe in educating my clients on mental health so that they may better understand themselves and their mental health. My therapeutic approach is a cognitive-behavioral approach; our thoughts dictate our behaviors. By addressing disturbing thoughts, we can aide our behaviors and work towards our goals. I also incorporate spirituality in counseling for clients that request this within sessions. I promote my clients to seek wellness in all aspects of their life as is important to them.

Above all these approaches, I work with a person-centered approach; my clients are the first and only priority within each session. Deciding to find a counselor can be a daunting and it is great that you have taken that step. I look forward to meeting you and going through this journey with you.
