What out-of-sight fears or desires are quietly shaping me? How have I learned to hide from pain without even realizing it? What do I actually want beneath what I've been taught to want? These are the questions we'll slow down to explore. When we don't face the wounds, fantasies, beliefs, and defenses we carry, we miss the chance for real change. It's by seeing and touching these difficult bits of ourselves that meaningful work happens.
I focus on challenges related to incarceration, trauma, and anxiety. I hold an MSW and a PhD in Anthropology and Social Work from the University of Michigan, and I’ve also received advanced training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy through the Michigan Psychoanalytic Institute.
I think of therapy as a chance to rewrite your story by showing up for yourself—with compassion and courage—and getting to know who you really are. If it feels like we might be a good fit, feel free to reach out anytime.
